"Affiliate marketing experts speak out..."

Instead of writing this piece,
I let my best affiliates write this article. I contacted a handful of my top
affiliate marketers and asked them to share a few tricks and strategies they use
to drive consistent traffic and sales.
Here's what they wrote...
We'll start with top affiliate Jerome Chapman. Listen closely as Jerome
reveals how he generates high affiliate income. His secret is in automation and
follow up. He even reveals the site that handles it all.
Jerome writes...
"If you really want to be a top producing reseller for your affiliate
programs you need to combine several ingredients together to come up with a
secret potion that produces sales for you with total automation.
"Most affiliates are aware of advertising in ezines. At one time or another
you have probably followed up with a prospect to try and close the sale. Maybe
you've even offered something Free just so that you could backend your prospect
with another offer to fatten up your wallet some more before the end of the
month."
"Combine them ALL together at the same time and you've got a marketing weapon
that will produce profits for you while you golf....sleep.....vacation.....or
spend time with the family."
Jerome
Did you get all that? Jerome makes serious sales by combining ezine
advertising, freebies, and email follow up -- and automating it all. And believe
me, Jerome does indeed make money like clockwork. I recall sending him one check
last year for more than $9,000 for a single month's commission.

Paul Lang, owner of http://sellitontheweb.com relates his affiliate success
to the very first step in affiliate marketing, selecting the correct programs.
Paul writes...
"I don't really do anything particularly fancy to promote your Make A Living
Online package. I would say the key to my success is due to the fact that there
is a close correlation between the audience MALO is aimed at and the audience I
attract - too many affiliates waste their time promoting programs that are
totally unsuitable for their site!"
"Of course this raises the question of how you can tell which programs are
best for a particular site. The only way of course is to test and measure and
throw out the programs that don't pay their way. I guess one of the biggest
mistakes newbie affiliates make is not to measure everything. Unless you measure
all your marketing activities then you are simply wasting your time."
"Anyhow, the close correlation between our audiences means that I have found
banner advertising to be very effective. I display a small button (featuring the
cover of the book) on most of my Web pages - see the yellow sidebar at http://sellitontheweb.com/ezine/freestuff.shtml
for an example. This button has a very healthy 1% CTR."
"I've also been experimenting with popunders. I know some people find these
irritating so I keep their use to a minimum. However, I have found the CTR on
these to be very high - up to 7% on some of the trials I have done."
Cheers,
Paul

Another top performing affiliate, Bob McElwain explains his affiliate
success...
"One reason I may have more success than others, Jim, is that I
enthusiastically support your program. I'm sure this shines through in my
newsletter and on my site."
"Probably what matters most, though, is that I push your program at the top
of both the newsletter and site. And, taking a hint from you, I continue to
tinker with the ads, trying to improve them. So readers don't see the same thing
every week."
"I also keep things simple. Apart from pushing my own stuff and services, I
support only two programs. Some make the mistake of tackling too many deals.
Holding a tight focus works best for me."

Here's a unique idea just recently implemented by another one of my
affiliates, Mark Caron...
Mark has set up an audio training page where he shares tips with marketers
and pre-sells them on different programs. Each week he adds a new audio tip to
help his website visitors.
See http://www.affiliategurus.com/audio-tip-archive.html for the audio tip he
uses to drive traffic to my site. It is a clever idea and one that should yield
dividends as his traffic grows.

Our last affiliate today is Yanik Silver. You may have heard of Yanik
already. He's quite a successful, young entrepreneur. Actually, he signed up for
my affiliate program just last week and has already earned $500 in commissions.
He has a marketing system set up where he simply plugs programs like mine in
and watches the profits grow. I expect his productivity to double and triple
within the next few weeks as he plugs his affiliate link into more corners of
his system.
Actually, it was quite interesting "watching" how he does it. He showed web
marketers his unique strategies at a conference last year. I missed the
conference but just got the video. In case you missed it too, Yanik has
generously extended a $50 off coupon to my subscribers...

Much like Jerome above, Yanik focuses on automation and targeting. He values
his free time and wisely chooses to have computers do the bulk of his selling. I
use many of the same strategies in my own business and can vouch for their
effectiveness!
